By saving wild tigers and their habitat,
we protect the catchment areas our rivers
and recharge groundwater resources.
The 39 tiger reserves in India preserve the
sources of more than 20 major rivers like
Tapti, Narmada, Mahanadi, Ramganga and several
hundred streams and rivulets. This network of
water channels supports several millon livelihoods
providing access to drinking water,
irrigation and other linked activities.
We will also save biodiversity and India's ecological foundation.
