- Finding alternate energy resources that contribute less or no air-pollution, sound pollution

- Purity of resources like rivers,lakes,ponds etc. should be monitored regularly
and proper care must be taken so that they should not be polluted by industries and the people

SKY:

- In addition to industries, the number of aeroplanes and helicopters are increasing day-by-day and contributing more and more to sky pollution. For example, the people who (stayed)are staying in MUMBAI or other cities should have witnessed and experienced sky pollution

EARTH:

- Reduce-reuse-recycle

Fire:

- Smoking should be banned completely and the smokers should be punished accordingly
- Introducing fine,
- Making them to plant trees, like for example, for each cigarette, he should
plant 10 plants

Enjoy your freedom but not with the expense of other innocent people's(non-drinker and
non-smoker)health

- Big industries and educational institutions should use solar based energy generators
so that more electricity can be provided for agriculture(to farmers)

About the speaker:

K.V.BALAKRISHNAN is the son of a school teacher who was a great
scholar in Sanskrit, English and Tamil. In his early age, he learnt
from his father a large number of Sanskrit devotional scriptures. He
got his M.Sc degree in Mathematics form National College,
Tiruchirappali, where he also taught mathematics for some years.
Subsequently, he joined State Bank of India as an officer and served
the same Institution till retirement in the year 2002. Since then he
has fully devoted his time to the study and teaching of Sanskrit
literature, especially devotional and Vedantic literature.
K.V.Balakrishnan has given several lectures on works of Sri Adi
Sankara like Soundarya Lahari, Sivananda Lahari and Vivekachudamani in
literary and religious forums. He has given a talk in IISc on an
earlier occasion on "The Poetic Beauty of Sri Sankara's Literary
Creations". He is presently Vice-President of Samskrita Sahithya
Parishad, Tiruchirapalli.

Tips For Kitchen Lab and misc.

* To remove food smell from refrigerator,
place a fresh slice of bread(uncovered) in the refrigerator and
it will absorb most of the unpleasant odour.

* Coriander leaves
- To keep coriander leaves fresh for a longer period
remove its stem and store it in a container and refrigerate
it and daily clean its lid from inside with a cloth or tissue
paper. In this way it stays fresh for a longer period.

(This tip is specIalLove for the fans of Coriander soUp:))

* After cutting any sour things such as lime, tomatoes or pineapple etc.
wash the knife immediately so that the knife does not blunt.

* Add a little water to used tea leaves and use them to
clean glass and window panes for sparkling results.

* Before frying the potatoes just soak the potatoe pieces
in the buttermilk and allow them to dry, it will be very
tasty and soft.

* To keep the gold shiny
- Take a container and add a little amount of shampoo,
water and boil it(do not ask me about boiling temperature:));
After sometime put the gold items inside and brush well.

Story of a Grand-daughter

Long long ago, one sweet seventy years young grandpa:).
And
One very sweet and cute grand-daughter of just seven years young.

One very good evening, the grandpa and his smart grand daughter went to a majestic banyan tree located outside their village.
While her grandpa was in chit-chatting with the village men, this little kid was in the library nearby and studying books.

Forgetting the outside world, the little angel went on reading till late evening. After sometime, grandpa came and called her. They started going back to their home. Since he was having poor vision, she was helping and guiding him to move on. Suddenly, the grandpa stopped and asked her to complete one rhyme:

"If I have wings.."

In general, the rhyme ends with the following:

"fly up and above the sky
Go and see all the beautiful places
Meet great people
.."

The little goddess knew the rhyme very well, but,
she said with lot of enthusiasm,
"IF I HAVE WINGS, I GO OUR NEIGHBOR VILLAGE LIBRARY AS WELL AND STUDY ALL THE BOOKS"

In the dark night, her grandpa's eyes glowed like fireflies:)

That day night, he said with the little kid sleeping on the bed,
" One hundred years back, in America, there was a person by name Andrew Carnegie. He was a billionaire. After he died, his money was spent for building so many libraries in several villages. I did not go and see but people say that every library that is found there was built by his money."

He continued..!

My little honey, I know you love books so much. Give me a promise that If you have more money than you need, get books for at least one library.

That little genius gave promise to her grandpa without any delay.

That kid shined in her academics very well. Till the year 1974, she was the only girl who did post-graduation from IISc (TATA Village) in our country.

She reached greater heights in her career. Later, she became INFOSYS chair-person.

Her name is Sudha Narayana Murthy.

Through Infosys foundation, she purchased thousands of books and donated to libraries. Thus fulfilled her grandpa's dream. She is not just a soft-ware engineer. She is a great writer too.
